Tangs suggestions

FYI, i got a 6 inch purple ( too big for the tank at the moment) and a 3 yellow tang both which are extremely polite citizens in my tank. Never caused any aggression issues. With that said, my gold rim has always been the main aggressor..odd huh?

so you do have 2 similar ones in there, Really like both the purple and the sailfin how are they getting along? any tips on how to add them except purple goes in last?

Actually, three of the same Genus. I think the Gem is he same genus as the Sailfin and the Purple.

I've never had a problem with this type of aggression. A split fin here and there. But everyone always seems to get along after a bit of initial posturing. Lots of threats to slash, but little, if any, actual cutting.

I've never had to past pics of fish on the sides of the tank either.

Tank is a 300 gallon, so maybe it ss large enough that they all had enough room?

I think Dave's real trick is a 300g tank. I personally would not put three tangs of the same genus in a 135g.

I'm open to anything else cool that I'm missing.

They will go in a 6ft tank with light aquascaping and few other fish. Plan is to get them small and add one every 2 weeks or so.

The most tangs of similar genus I had in my 210 was two: a Sailfin and a RS Purple. I added Jeremy's Gem after the Sailfin had gone, because it grew like a weed, so after the Sailfin and RS Purple, there was the Gem and RS Purple.

1 Blue Tang
(Paracanthurus hepatus)

2 Chevron Tang
(Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis)

3 Mimic Half Black Tang
(Acanthurus chronixis)

4 Sailfin Tang, Desjardini
(Zebrasoma desjardini)

5 Purple Tang
(Zebrasoma xanthurum)

After I introduce the first 2 I'll decide if #3 goes in or not. Then one of the zebrasomas for sure and then I'll decide if I add more.

Get your Sailfin small....you'll be able to enjoy it longer. IME they are the fastest growing Tang I have ever seen.

My 125 is only getting 2 tangs (yellow,naso or sailfin) and 3 others undecided, I originally wanted an eel and predator tank but we decided on better looking swimmers since its in our dining room

My 220 is going to have 3 tangs.. That's it as far as tangs go.. Achilles, PBT, and my Scopus.. Chevrons look GREAT when they are young (they don't keep that cool pattern and colors forever) but when mature, they are just kinda Blah.. JMO though..
