Looking to get back into the hobby within the next few months once my new house is done building and I'm looking to have at least a 210-250 gallon display. I don't like the look of overflow boxes at the corner of my tank so I'm looking for a cost to cost overflow design. Anyone know of some good tank builders in the local area or a good manufacture I can order from? Thanks

Nate, ill be moving real close to you by Christmas time buddy. I'm having a house built right now on windy hill off of Atlanta road.
 
Most manufacturers can build a C2C overflow. I have a glass tank being built right now with a C2C overflow with an external overflow box.

I don't know of a local glass manufacturer that could/would do it. I know Planet Aquarium, AGE and Deep Sea Aquatics can all do C2C overflows - not local though.

MRC would be a local provider that could do an acrylic tank with C2C.
 
Yes, very nice to have a local glass option. They probably need to get the word out.
 
I may be wrong, but I think MRC does hybrid tanks, like glass front and acrylic sides/back/bottom. Now whether they make them themselves or contract these out, I don't know. Acrylic is their forte, of course.
 
I was talking to Raj, and he said they are doing complete glass builds now as well. You just gotta ask for it.

I'd like a hybrid for the bottom and back.

I'd like to find a company that specialists in glass and not just starting out on it. Only reason I'm looking for local is due to shipping, but I can always order online if need be.

For about a decade now ;) For all glass, the glass-only companies are the way to go. Most sponsors can handle it through their contacts.

Hybrids are fairly new, though. Rather than all glass, hybrid is the way to go; plus it takes a lot of skill and knowledge to fabricate a hybrid tank..not everyone can bond the different materials together (and have them hold water!). :)
 
OMG. I hate you all...

I've managed to put some scratches on the 150 and there are a few that I never did get polished out. After lusting over Dave's hybrid, I'd really like to go that route, but know that if I suggest that within the next year I'll be looking for a new home.

It's nice to know that this option exists though. The hybrid tanks are definitely a "best of both worlds" scenario. Very exciting to hear...

Can you pm me a ball park figure of how much a hybrid 8'x3'x30" high tank with a 4' coast to cost (external) will run me?
