Allright, this may be a weird one but...

Has anyone seen or have a grabbing-type gadget that involves a long pole with pinchers at a 90 degree (or adjustable angle) to the pole.

I ask this because one of my horses is dead, and the skeleton is inside a cave that I cannot reach without tearing the entire reef apart, and honestly, I've finally gotten it to where I want it so I don't want to destroy my landscaping. the cave is on the very bottom of my tank, about a 2" opening, and like I said, I simply cant reach it, but all of the "grabbing" type devices I've found are just the regular kind, which is a long pole with pinchers at the end of it, directly inline with the shaft of the pole, or the standard "tong" type.

So I'm wondering if y'all have seen anything... made anything... etc.. that might be able to do the job.

Otherwise I'll be tearing up my 'scape tonight, lol.

I tried the siphon and the bent coat hanger, but I think the problem is that when she died, she must have had her tail wrapped around something inside, and now that she's frozen, she's stuck in place... i need something to actually grab on to her...

Yes its possible that my hook on the hanger just sucked, but I tried, lol.

Thanks for the answers though folks!

Have you tried a skewer? You could tape a barbed treble hook or something similar to the end of it. You can also break the end of the skewer (not completely off) to make an angle.

How big is the pony? Would it be an option to add a few extra hermits to your system and let nature take its course?

Also... so sorry about the loss.

:'(

Yep, sorry about your loss-

And I've had three fish in the 90 that died and I couldn't get them out, Copperband Butterfly, and 2 Pearly Jawfish- I just did an extra water change or so, and I never had a problem-

But, what about those long metal grabby thingys that is used to get stuff out of a garbage disposal- you push the red button on the end and it extends the grabby arms... Those are competly flexible, but you may have to have help 'seeing' what you are doing.

Nice idea...and great drawings as well.

what about getting a clothes pin and puting it 90 degrees to the regular grapers and squezee to open the pin and unclench to close the pin.

you could try a mechanics grabber. you can bend them and then have little fingers that stick out and spring retract. I got mine from snap-on but they have them at Sears. Good luck!!
