From your floor to the bottom of your tank. What is your Height? Thank you for your replies.

Good I had been doing some measuring and had came up with about 40 inches (what I would need to clean my skimmer) and I thought that may be to tall. 42 would be better.

36 is what most do...its all in what you want and how you want to view.

I can tell you from n00b experience... get a taller stand.

I bought a stand/canopy combo from a LFS. The stand to bottom of tank is 32". I can also tell you that quite a few profane words have come from my mouth after hitting my head on the door opening whilst cleaning the skimmer, fuge, etc.

If I had it to do over again, at least 36", but probably more like 40".

40 inches with a 24" tall tank. looking back I would have gone a little taller but then again I'm 6'3" so...

From what perspective will be your primary viewing should dictate the height IMO. (taking into consideration i dont have to house any equipment under the tank) I designed my stand to be 30" off the ground because there is designated seating/couches to view the tank from. It's perfect eye level from that viewing point. That's the rooms only purpose in our house.
I've had plasma tv's of the same size mounted two different ways. One was over a fireplace tilted and the other eye level with the seating. While it was a little more getting used to, I much prefer to watch on the one mounted eye level with the seating. Propping something up high is usually a method of coping with too little overall space in the room.
So, in the end I guess it just depends on what you have to work with. Do what YOU like. Others will view your tank in passing, while you, (if you're like me) will look it with extreme detail even enjoying the pod population.

I agree. Mine is on up there, buts kind of a "pass through" area of my home where u end up standing as you look.
