Success! What a job. Had by bro-in-law and his two boys to help with the heavy lifting. New sand bed looks great. Got 120# caribsea sea flor special grade. Old sand was awful, nasty, crappy, you name it! Dumped it in the back of the yard in some weeds. Not worth foolin with. Hardest part was putting the live rock with the corals back in the tank when I couldn't see what was going on. Got two heaters going and lights on to get the temp back up. Now I have to help my poor slaving wife finish up at the old house. Then we get to tackle a garage full of crap at this house. I never want to move again.

Later on I'll reset the rocks and corals when the tank clears up.

Camera is packed away somewhere. I'll get pix once I get the rocks reset and it looks like something. Got a garage full of crap to go thru, and a few more things to get at the old house, like the fort I built for doodlebug and my guitar and woodworking wood. My tank has cleared up nicely now. The BTA is not very happy, but I think it'll make it. My rocks are all over the place now that I can see them. Gonna have to reset them, but that'll have to wait a few days.

My wife and I are pinching ourselves. We really scored a nice place. A HUD repo. 4 bedroom ranch, built in 2001, big deck on the back, huge open kitchen and family room, 2 car garage, and 1 acre to mow. Under $100k!

Here's a pic with Kitty checking out the fish. She tasted saltwater, ONCE, and I don't think she'll do it again. Sorry, cell phone pic.

Tank pic. Sorry, cell phone pic. But there it is. Got to redo the rock work, but everything made it, even the BTA! Yah! :yay:

At least in the army you were in good shape. I'm getting too old for this noise. I remember when Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper put out their first albums! I think I still have them.

Anyway the coraline on the glass is turning white. I guess that is normal and new coraline should grow back over it. I'll bump up the calcium and alk to get it jumpstarted. Now to keep kitty out of the tank.

BTW, I'm inviting a new member to be over tomorrow to help get her tank up and running. Her name is Val, and she had a tank down in Miami. I hope to be able to bring her to the meeting tuesday for some free frags. Her and her husband live not too far away from me. Cool.
