Hello everyone, I finally picked up my red sea 750xxl today. I plan on building the stand over the next few days and hopefully finish it on Monday on my day off. Is there anyone near Conyers that would possibly be able to help on Tuesday evening? I'll need about 4 or 5 guys if possible, you can't understand the weight until you try to move it!!! Thanks

I helped move one of these with just one other guy from his garage to the stand in the house. It's pretty heavy! Still don't know how we did it. I'd offer to help but I'm the other side if town.

It took 4 of us to push it on a trailer!!! I sent adamdaniel a message, I may just try to pay a tank mover to come in and move it if not too crazy. I think that would be money well spent!!!

His rates are pretty reasonable.

It can be done with just two people and it makes going through doors much easier but you've got to know your limits and never bend over with that much weight. I also used a strap from my hands over my shoulders to help spread the weight. We had to set it down once in the front door too. Then get it up on stools to be able to lift it again.
Not something I want to do again anytime soon!

How much a tank mover cost? I'm sure if you offered a few people on here that weren't close some gas money and a beer afterwards they'd be willing to drive down and help.

I should have clarified that, but that would be the least I would do helping lift this monster!!! I also realize it's a weekday.

Tonight moved me one step closer to completion. We were able to get the tank on the stand and leveled, doors on, and started fiddling with some of the equipment. I have a stand coming on Friday that I saw another member on R2R using, that I will use for all of my equipment or all of my supplies and small wares I'm not sure which yet. I plan to run it without a chiller, but I'm not sure how it will work out. I really don't want to have to buy a chiller. The tank looks great in the location that we chose, the wife is happy for sure. Hopefully I will start plumbing it probably next week, I have to order my metric conversion fittings so I can hard plumb it. After that I will probably start on getting my QT set up going, and then I have to re soak my rocks in dechlorinated water after sitting in the sun for 2 weeks.

On another note, thank you again so much David you were a life saver tonight. I couldn't have done it without you, people like you are what really make ARC great.

No worries man! That tank is a beast! Your setup is awesome. Can't wait to see it all running

Very nice! - regarding chiller. - I have 2 120 gallon + a 40 breeder setup in a 12 X 12 room and have not needed a chiller for the 2 + years I've been running like this.

I'll say that I have 1 particular DC pump on 1 tank that increases the temp of that tank by roughly 2 degrees.

We keep our house temp on that level at roughly 73 - 74 degrees normally.

Thank you! Thats very good to know about the chiller, we keep our house around the same so hopefully it will be fine without.

I used a 1/3rd HP chiller on my 220 last year and it died at the end of the season. Fortunately I didn't spend much on it. Even with the chiller I'd have to drop the temp in the basement down to 75-76 to keep the system under 79 during the heat of the day. This year I hooked 2 fans up that I bought from Fry's. One went over the main tank and the other over the frag. I seldom have to drop the temp in the basement from 78 to 77 now. The fans are set to come on at 79 and off at 78. This has saved me a good bit on my power bill. Between the higher ambient temp of the basement meaning the AC is running less and no chiller running my bill was about $100 less last month.

If your system does start getting warmer than you'd like it don't under estimate the effect of evaporative cooling.

That thing is gorgeous! Look forward to following your build.
Thank you, I appreciate it. That white looks really nice. I just ordered the last of my plumbing parts including a flow meter for my return and some cable organization items. After I complete the plumbing and start the wiring I have to let my bank account catch up a bit!
