tank maintenance software

Don't know if this is the right forum or not but here goes. Does anyone on here use a computer software version of a reef log/maintenance log for their reef tanks? I think that would be cool to be able to document and track what you did to your tank

That's a great idea. It would sure help me a lot! Until then I guess I'll keep posting questions here and pestering the few people I have met on here. This forum has been a great tool for me in learning things

There is a software called "ReefCon 2000". It is great for keeping up with everything you do or buy for your tank.

I use a program called AquaLog -- not sure where I found it -- it was free and works for me. It reminds you of maintenance duties -- once you open the program. It looks like it's built on and Excel platform. For a freebie -- it's very nice.

I really like this! Since I am on my computer all the time for online classes I will be able to keep up with everything I need to do on a regular basis!

I think a smartphone app would be pretty neat too! Something that has dosage calculators, maintenance reminders, lists to keep track of livestock and equipment, and a good log book.

I don't think these are necessary, since a notebook is just as useful, but they're fun to play with.

I have tried a couple of apps for my iPhone...but they all suk.
The ones Jenn posted up look pretty good.
I'm gonna try one!

I find I either do enough that I forget every little thing, or I do so little that I don't feel like getting on the computer to document it.


Today for example, I did a total reset of my RKL system, updated all modules to latest firmware, added the RKM-NET module and got that working (headache at first, easy once I figured out what I needed to do).

Tomorrow I'm doing a reset of the sump area. Stand alone fuge is coming out, CA reactor and kalk reactor are all going INSIDE the stand, gonna rework some plumbing, maybe...etc.

Other days, I just feed. I'm still not working on a "set" work schedule, so it's not easy to plan water changes and stuff, I just start mixing water, and when I get to it, I do it.

I even used to keep an excel chart for my VSV and Vitamin C dosing, but that fell by the wayside with school this past semester and when I figured out my good maintenance doses.
