Tank Maintenence at a Kennesaw school

My GF is a nanny and one of her kids goes to a pre-school near the Marietta Country Club off Barrett Parkway and they have a SW tank...

My GF went inside to pick up the kiddo a few days ago, noticed the tank in shambles (dead fish.....) and asked about it. They seemed like they were LOST with what to do with it and started asking her several questions that she obviously couldnt answer (she isnt "in the hobby"). They seemed confused on care and maintenence and probably had it given to them and set up, then someone walked away. I think they are even using unconditioned tap water for top off and who knows if its ever seen a WC.

Long story long, anyone want to help maintain it? I couldnt take on the project 100% (due to travel) but can definately be a part of it. First thought would be for someone to hire a maintenence co but dont think they have the budget, I just hope they have the budget for salt! I will get as much info as possible and some pics hopefully later today and will put all the info here.

Good deal, didnt think of that...."training" them to take care of it.....makes more sense than providing ongoing maintenence. I need to see what type of budget they have and if they dont have one....i need to explain to them that SW tanks cost $$$ to maintain and they should consider letting it go if they cannot afford its care..

no doubt......Optimum is the closest sponsor to the school. maybe they can donate water and salt for WC

What is the address? I can't place any preschools on Barrett parkway. I would be interested in helping do maintenance once my semester ends.

Take the back way out of your neighborhood and take a left its right by the train tracks across from mt paran i beleive - it is walking distance from your house. it has a red roof i think

No, you wouldnt pass this place everyday - its back on a sidestreet near the back entrance to the Marietta Country Clubs the "Overlook" community - I have been there once or twice but cant remember the name! my gf is gonna give me the info later and I dont think she got pics today because she picked up the kiddo at 230 and hasnt sent me any. I plan to go up there later this week when she picks him up to see it and ask questions.

How funny - all this and I just found out they hired Creation Reef today to maintain their tank. Oh well, now with all these eager people willing to help - be at my house this weekend for tesing and Water Change!! we will also need to hard pipe my system, upgrade the sump and skimmer and install a gfo/carbon reactor.....bring the sump and skimmer....oh yeah, and pumps, Mag 24's preferably :lol2:....and bring beer and dinner.
