I need to move a 500lb tank about 60 miles. Does anyone know which stores in the area move tanks? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I used Robert from Innovative Aquatics to move my tank when I bought it from another member. It wasn't cheap but I can say for certain had i tried to do this with a couple of friends it would have been a disaster.

I have received two quotes so far: $3,400 from a local fish store, but there is no guarantee that the tank will hold water after the move. Additionally, I have received a quote of $1,400 from Bulldog Movers, with no guarantee that the tank would not be damaged during the move, and zero liability if it were. At these prices, it's cheaper to buy a new tank and have it delivered than to purchase a used tank and have it moved.

I guess that's part of the reason people sell these for so cheap used.

Easy would be setup a some sort of temporary tub for all livestock to house them in while you sell your tank, and just get a new tank delivered to your new place. Less mess. Less headache, and makes it so you can take your time getting everything set back up

Saves a lot of the headache. I tried moving a small tank myself and I told myself I will never do it again...

If you need a place to house anything temporarily I can take care of your coral while you try to get everything moved and set back up. May be able to hold some of the fish as well but that depends on the compatability of your stock and mine..

The hardest part of moving a tank is the time frame it needs to get done in. Rushing it, it can crash the tank really really fast... the stuff that gets kicked up from the sandbed alone will really dirty up the water fast.... my tank was super toxic and cloudy for almost 5 days.. not to mention trying to keep everything the same temp in this weather...

Good luck.
