I just read that National Geographic Wild will be presenting a series of shows on Saturdays at 10 pm from May 12 thru June 16 that will feature the designs of the company Living Color Aquariums out of Ft Lauderdale. It'll be interesting to see how they compare to the current show "Tanked". I've visited their facility and have one of their reef inserts in my 155 bow front so I'll be watching.

I looked at having Living Color build me a custom Amazon sunken tree type backdrop for my 180 gallon discus tank, but it would have been prohibitively expensive. Looks like they do make some nice aquariums. I hope this Nat Geo series has more of the science behind fish/coral care, and not these fru-fru theme aquariums they do on "Tanked."

well put! that "fru-fru" show could be a lot better!

Tanked is pretty much "let's see what ridiculous object we could turn into a fish tank!"

Seriously, that's all I got from it the few times I checked it out.

Here's a link to a sample of their show. Looks decent. Doeesn't look like they're going for the laughs.

i agree with the consensus on "Tanked" BUT you gotta keep in mind that what we consider "science behind the hobby" is not remotely interesting to the GENERAL population who watches the network. It would be like me sitting through a show that tells how pipe organs work.

I know thats a generalized thing to say.. but I can be rather general at times I suppose.

Checked out Tanked last night for the first time. Lost interest about 10 minutes in. Tried to watch another episode and lost interest 5 minutes in.

I agree. They have to try and keep it interesting for people who aren't in the hobby. I personally love the show!

I don't love the show but I find it interesting. But I accept it for what it is.

I like the show and for what thy do I am impressed with the craftsmanship that goes into the tank design. I just get disappointed at the overrstocking of the fish.

Here lately be been really digging the la fish guys videos on YouTube
