TDS meter reading

I tested the RO water coming staight from the RO unit. The reading was zero. Then I tested the water in the unit that holds the water. The reading was 2. I know the numbers are not bad, but I was wondering why they would be different. Is it time for a new container? If so, what kind do you recommend?

keep it covered...

keep the container covered to keep out dust, etc.

Also, you should clean it out every once in a while.
