bottled water has minerals added for taste and such, so it will read with a higher tds.

My tap water is very clean compared to yours. You will probably have to change your filters more often.

it came with some filters already; I've got:
a 5-micron rating 10'' sediment filter
an activated carbon filter (says taste and odor removal)
and 2 carbon block filters with a nominal 10 micron rating

Is this what I need to get my unit down to or at least closer to 0 PPM?

yeah, those sound like your normal prefilters. Do you have a DI cartridge at the end?

ahh, the DI resin is what will give you zero tds. The prefilters and RO will give you close (since it will have a rejection rate of 95-98%).

You'll probably have some by next meeting, but if not, let me know and I'll hhok you up with a baggie of resin. :)

I bought bulk. I know the filterguyz carry it. twopartsolution carry it. Not sure if Tim at keen reef has any. Maybe Sammy at aqaubuys?

oh, ok--so it's not just something that you pick up at home depot or something?
