Looks like a type of majano anemone to me. Use lemon juice or kalkpaste to nuke it into oblivion now before it gets out of control.

So this is a *bad guy* ? :(

I have several. Will lemon juice hurt other things that these are in the middle of?

The lemon juice has a very limited range of effectiveness since it gets diluted rapidly. Ideally you should use a hypodermic needle to apply the juice within the anemone to ensure its demise.

Not in moderation. But, the Mojano anemone will certainly multiply and hurt things.

Her picture is not clear but I don't think its a majano.

It's got neon green tips.

Linda take a better picture.

Majano can be a lot of different colors. I got one on a frag from online and it was the prettiest lil thing as it was completely bright neon flourescent green. It was by far prettier than the 40 dollar zoa polyp next to it... yet I killed it without a second thought :).

That being said it might be something else... as I've been wrong before maybe once or twice in the past 30 years?? :)

Ugh it is a pretty little sucker.

There is a black anemone right above it as well.

That is definitly a majano anemone. Many have been felled by the might of my syringe!

I gave em a dose of Joes will that do it?

It's gone now ... and its kinfolk

Thanks all... for making me a murderess

wait that is a super rare extremely valueable softie!

oh wait... yep it is annoying little goober that deserved to die.

HAHAHA I told Linda OMG what if we just killed Wei's super rare 400 dollar softie.

Speaking of majano anemones, I have a fairly small one right in the middle of my large zoo rock with several zoos surrounding it. Any ideas on how to kill it without killing the zoos surrounding it? How much Joe's juice is needed to be successful?

I pull the whole rock out of the water. I found you get a much better kill rate that way. It also allows for greater accuracy.

I got one off a coral from a LFS. The other night I was cleaning the tank and notice that they had multipled and spread. Pulled the rock out ran it under very hot water with a scrub brush.

I found another bugger who ill get a syringe full of kalkwasser with some yellow polyps this weekend.

They are pretty little things, but not good in the tank.

if you can remove the rock- just tear him off with a pair of tweezers. one good thing, they dont tear apart and multiply like aptaisia.

The majano won't, the aiptasia will somewhat. It really depends on where it is on the rock. But it you allows to hit it with a more concentrated amount that doesn't wash away. All zoos and leathers will be fine out of the water for a few minutes, but one is plenty.
