Really tired of dealing with adding water to my tank every day. I'm looking to buy a ATO so I can fix this issue. Please recommend me a good one and all the rest of the parts I will need too.

If I could see pictures of yours, I sure would appreciate it.

JBJ ATO...I bought one a while back for the same reasons and it's been working well and not had any problems with it....money well spent in my books!

a>, have one that's 3 years old. Works great!

Simon, that's a great offer. You know where I live right?:lol2:

Id rather go with a tunze but i use the ATO and havent had any problems regardless...

I've used the JBJ ATO and up until Wednesday never had a problem with them. Wednesday, one of them went bad and won't power up. I have an Apex with a Breakout Box so I'm going to move the float switches from the broken JBJ to the Apex and use it instead. I'd still get another JBJ without hesitation.

I have a JBJ and a Reef Fanatic. The only thing that is really different between the 2 is that the JBJ "times out" after 14 min max. I use Aqualifter pumps, and in my sump to raise the level from "switch down" to "switch up" takes more than 14 min, so it won't keep up. I use it on my wife's smaller tank with no issues.

A larger water pump would also fix the problem, but I like the Aqualifter due to a) running a kalk stirrer (slow throughput) and b) pump is not harmed if it runs dry.

I bought the one that you build yourself and it works fine, but I wouldn't buy that one again because I did not enjoy buiding it myself. Have it for 2 months now and no problems. I don't have it on an auto controller.

+1

By far the best ATO on the market. imo

A liter meter is also another good choice. They are expensive but well worth it in the long run.
