I saw a thread recently surveying reef tank temps, sadly I cannot seem to find it.
I added the last piece of equipment last night, a UV sterilizer and when I got home tonight my temp was at 81.5 degrees. Needless to say I unplugged it because the green area on the thermometer stops at 80. The temp is almost back to 80 now and everyone seems fine.
Anyone know how much heat a 48 inch T5 actually puts off? I'm wondering if I can run the UV at night when the light is out and stay in a safe temp range. I have a Reef Blue brand light if that matters. The long term plan is to buy Kessil lights and I believe they put off less heat but that is several months away.
