New here but have spent hrs pillaging old posts for info and admiring tanks for ideas. Been out of the saltwater aquarium scene for about 15 or 16 years and I'm very excited to get back into it. Technology has brought this hobby a long way. I live in Ellijay so we have no LFS . Let me just say thank you to everyone for all of the info on this site .

Currently have a 29 oceanic BioCube that's on its second week of cycling. Have been collecting equipment for a few months now . Taking everything real slow and methodical as far as tank equipment and livestock goes .

I plan on becoming a supporting member as well as coming to the upcoming events. Hope this post is in the right place .

You're in the right place, you've posted to the right place and we're glad to have ya. If you have any questions, please, please ask them any time. ARC had gone through some changes forum-wise and our crack team of internet volunteers was able to recover quite a bit of information from the past but not all. If you have a question, please do ask and it'll be around for the next person to search through.

I'd advise to cycle with lights off or very low intensity...

What are you planning for livestock? 1.021 is fine for fish only but you'll need to bump it up to a min of 1.025 for coral.

Salt was a little low but I haven't done a water change yet ( 3 weeks ) . Just kept adding fresh water to top it off . Will have it 1.025 today after water change.

Here's a good calculator for hitting a target salinity. Lots of other really good calculators on this site too. It's a must have bookmark.

I'm using premixed water from my LFS right now . It is mixed a little strong ? Going to take a little adjusting.
