My $.02 worth... Probably a waste...
What ANY FS (online, local, and not just Porter's) has to do, is way different from what we have to do (and thank the good Lord). They HAVE to treat in various ways in order to keep parasites, diseases, and pathogens from going RUNAMOK.
If they didn't, we'd be so far up $#1T creek it wouldn't matter.
It is the nature of the business. e.g. when you go to get your hair cut, you are darn glad that the combs that they use are soaking in formalyde, but you don't do it at home. Or maybe you do :sad:
The treatment that you chose is based on a lot of things... but for ICK at home (especially if you want to avoid chemicals), the logical treatment seemed to be best described by coblerx4.
Imagine if we all employeed a QT with all or most of the following:
<ul>
<li>Cleaner Shrimp</li>
<li>UV Light</li>
<li>Food with garlic</li>
<li>raised the temp to 82</li>
<li>air stone in the tank</li>
</ul>You think that maybe, just maybe. we'd all have a whole lot less problems?
