I have a HOB filter as a supplemental and extra water movement. While I was at my folks house for Easter the strainer fell off and one of my chromis forgot his pebble when swimming up the inlet /-= I came home and found the strainer off and I thought I heard a funny noise so I went to clean it and found him stuck. Poor little guy

When I went away a couple of weeks ago, the AC died at the store... we nearly had a whole lotta "fish soup"...

Yes, mechanical devices just wait til you're gone, and then they take a dirt nap.
