My neighbor and I are talking about getting more corals for our tanks and I decided to read up on corals. I currently have soft corals and from what I read from corals101.com. They said that it would be best to invest in a calcium reactor. The cost would be much cheaper in the long run. I also have to clams in the tank that I know need calcium to grow. In my refug I have some cheeto and notice that they don't grow. Do they need calcium too?

Clams need calcium. Whether or not a calcium reactor depends on size of tank. You can do 2 part for a small tank but when you get around 100 gallons it makes more sense to do a CR. I have one on my 90 and never looked back. When you get it going....its great and not that hard to dial in. I think its cheaper in the long run for a bigger tank but more up front cost.

Well I have a 150 gal tank, I am really considering getting one since I will be adding more corals in the future. I was looking at a coralife reactor. It looks simple enough to use. I am not to sure about starting it up tho.

You guys have been very helpful. I am not going to get one soon but when I add SPS corals I will be getting one.
