I have a TLF reactor that I am currently running phosban in, but want to switch over to GFO. Is anyone running GFO in a TLF? How do you like it?
I would love to upgrade to a BRS reactor, but don't really have the room in my stand and the TLF hangs in my sump perfectly.

Thanks.

As long as the TLF will hold the amount you need with room for it to move a little, it's fine. I used one for quite a while. And frankly, they are a lot easier to clean than the BRS reactors IMO. The only thing I don't like about the idea of GFO in one is that it's a good idea to run carbon downstream of the GFO to catch the GFO "fines"... obviously with a single-chamber reactor you can't do that.

I have a 150 model and my tank is only a 90g so I think I should be fine. I was actually thinking about picking up a second reactor and running carbon in it. The small footprint and it being able to hang on the side of my sump works perfectly for my setup.

Thanks for the help.

For those of you running GFO or Carbon in the TLF reactors what pump are you using? I am currently using MJ900s on both reactors because I had them laying around, but I have had to dial them down so low that I am thinking about switching them out for a 600 or maybe even a 400.

I built a manifold off my main pump. I have 2 550s on my 120. Run independently. Also I only use 1.25 cups of each so its almost impossible to get grounds in the system.

I wish I would have built a manifold on this system. I am only using 1 cup of each and the only reason I am thinking about using a smaller pump is by running the 900s so low they get pretty noisy.

its not too late. build the manifold, cut pipe and glue it in. Took me all of 10 minutes.

I am interested in what gfo media you are going to use. I have currently tried rowaphos and phosban. I am currently looking at brightwell phosphatR as it is a round polymer and can be regenerated.
