Hey guys i have a toadstool in my tank, thats base ( the very bottom of it) has streched between two rocks, about a inch on the second rock. Wat would happen if i cut it from the second rock as close as i can to the first rock with the main coral on it. Might it grow a second leather over time? If it wont hurt it i will be cutting it anyways as its becoming a problem with the leathers location.

well thats interesting i always thought it was just with the cap of the coral. Thanks andy!

Alright well i just sliced through it as close as possible with a razor blade, and moved the small piece were i can see it better to keep a eye on it. the spot were it was cut is about as big around as a #2 pencil, about a inch long with a bigger part at bottom. The Area i cut is white flesh look with tiny little pin prick holes in it. Dont really care if it grows a second one but it sure would be okay with me lol. Never made frags of anything but rics, xenia and zoas.

My old toadstool is coming back from a decaying disease it had, during which i did iodine dips and cut off dead spots, i fully know how bullet proof they are lol that first cut i made on that thing scared me bad lol.

The toadstool is really lookin pissed from that cut. laying all over the rocks dark coloration in him, few polyps out tho so thats a good sighn lol

sweet, soon as that thing starts forming a new good one that will give me three toadstools! One of my favorite corals they make a awesome space filler/ center piece.
