Tunze Osmolator Issue

So my tunze stopped pumping top off water to the sump and i figured it was the OEM pump that comes with it. I ordered a new one, wired it, and still no luck.
After some observations, im realizing the laser is not registering that the water is dropping. Any ideas on how to fix this? Ive taken it off and giggled it but still no luck....not sure how to purchase another one either without purchasing an entirely new unit.
 
Ill try a vinegar dip but the unit has has only been running since jan...
 
You should be able to just wipe it down, unless you see a calcium build up. I't an optical sensor so if it get covered with anything, it will stay in the off position. I usually wipe mine down as part of my normal maintenance.

If wiping it clean doesn't work, call Roger at Tunze NA. You are under warranty, and they have great customer Service. You'll probably get a new unit (Sensor and the control box), as it is an integrated unit and no way to just replace the Sensor. Had almost the same thing happen to me, except my sensor was stuck in the 'on" position.
 
2 hour vinegar bath and wipe down, still not registering the depth.... sad part for me is i bought it from another member and im leaving town for work next week. So im not sure if i should order a new one or not??
 
Definitely, give Roger a call at Tunze. Even if they don't cover it under warranty (which is still a distinct possiblility), I've had Roger discount items to make sure the equipment is usable. He may have you send in the unit to see if it can be repaired as well.
