SO i have a biocube HQI 29g that i got from a member here that is no longer in the hobby. It looked great..finally got sand and rock and everything cycled...about to add livestock this week...i noticed in the back left side of the tank there is what appears to be a small crack/scratch...its hard to tell which...i can feel it with my fingernail on the inside of the tank but not on the outside...it may have been there the whole time and i didnt notice it until i put my new lightbulb in this week...its about 3/4 of an inch long...doesnt look very bad but just a little worried...i cant get in touch with the original owner to see if they have a receipt or if its under warranty cause their inbox is full...any opinions...think i should scrap the whole project...is it possible to live with a small crack (if thats what it is) and not have a problem? im kinda panicking lol :shout:

If it is a crack it will start at the edge of the glass. If it is located in the middle of the glass it is just a scratch.

oh seriously?....its about 3 inches from an edge....that gives me peace of mind...thank you!

if you shine a flashlight light on it (not straight on, but at an angle to the glass - say 45*).. a crack will appear as a WIDE ribbon within the glass..

a scratch will just look like a gouge..

if you can feel it with a fingernail on the inside, it's probably a scratch (more than likely from liverock)..
