undulated trigger

Meanest fish per inch, in the ocean, imho!

Problem is thats all i read is about hoe mean they are but mine just isnt showing any of that agression. Heck my yellow tang is more agressive then him at the moment.

He'd be fine in a community predator tank.

I had one years ago and he would hold his own with groupers, lionfish and eels over twice his size. He wouldn't show any aggression towards them, but anything slightly smaller than him he would destroy - not just bully; kill.

The fish has great personality from outside the tank ... Hand feed, come right to the glass, etc. My personal experience is that they just need larger and aggressive tank mates.

I agree, they may get along with larger more aggressive fish.

I had one, and only 1, years ago. Killed half of my fish before I could catch it.

Never again. Just not worth it to me.

Even a clown trigger isn't as mean, and they are a LOT more beautiful.

hes the second biggest fish in the tank atm. We have some really small fish in there with him and hes friendly to them. I plan on getting him out just to avoid anything in the future going bad... My luck he will find what ever is the most expensive and have at it. Our tank is a 300 gallon so many thats y hes not beeing mean at the moment i dunno.

Many times a more aggressive fish will behave with other fish, IF ADDED LAST.

I'm not taking a chance with an undulate again though.

I had one for about 2 years - got him tiny, moved him about a few displays. Then we put him in our 1000 gallon - he was the smallest fish at the time, and the last. Model citizen for 8 months. Then, one day, he attacked my Batfish - largest fish in the 1000g. Tore out the Bat's eye. Was trying to get the other when I intervened (removed the Bat - couldn't catch the trigger right away).

Fortunately the Bat healed - lived another 5 years with one eye - many of you will remember Bruce the Bat. The Trigger was later sold (with full disclosure of his attitude) to someone who keeps sharks. He even gave the sharks a hard time.

Meanest fish, EVER.

Thanks Jen i beleive you told me that story te other day in the store, its whats made my mind up that i needed to get him out. I was just curious if anyone had ever had an happy ending with one.

Agree with meanest fish ever. Had one years ago and it killed lionfish and other triggers. Same method.....they go for the eyes. These fish should only be kept by themselves.......or with sharks.
