Unknown blue covering

This is on the rock that my Xenia frag was on, before it walked away. The first pic is about 8 mo. ago, the 2nd today. The total size is about 1 in. dia.. Yes it it really that blue. I appears to only grow on the "white" stuff. Any idea? Thanks, Russell

It's bad to have in your tank so I should take it and study it so it does not come back!!!
 
Pretty sponge :) We often see the yellow variety. Very nice!

Could be? But if you look very close, it is comprised of small circles (3/16) with a very small white center (note the white specks). Thanks for your thoughts.

Yep sponge. Daddy likey if you want to get rid of it:D
You should keep it though. Very colorful harmless free filtration
 
I have a light blue sponge VERY similar to that, which I had to purchase...I'm jealous! I aggree with the people who say it's a sponge. :thumbs:
