Ive got something in one of my live rocks that I cant identify. It is white, long, and stringy. It only comes out when the lights are off. I was thinking it is just a tentacle from a spaghetti worm but Ive only seen one. If it is a tentacle Ive never seen what it is attached to. When I shine a flash light on it, it slowly retreats back into the rock. Im guessing it has a slime or film to it because it seems to be dragging bits of sand back with it.

What is it?

definitely not a shrimp...I cant really find a picture of a Euclid worm to compare it to. Its in a position in the tank where it is really hard to get a good pic.

To me it really does look like the tentacle of a spaghetti worm, but like I said I only see one and nothing else...Its hard to tell but it is at least 3 inches long and very thin. Ive been seeing it for about a week, in the same spot and nothing more than ive described.

no, an Elucid worm is twice as fast as the fastest worm you've ever seen...

Just FYI... it's Eunicid worm (that's why you can't find a pic, spelled incorrectly).

I don't think that's what OP has... just threw that in there so folks can see what one is.

I looked up a good bit about peanut worms just now and its definitely a possibility. Mine seems slower to react to light than what I just saw/read about. Ive not been able to see a mouth since it never fully comes out of the one hole in the rock.

It has no legs so I dont see it being a bristle worm, and its definitely bigger than any flatworm ive ever seen
