So is this a good idea? I have a rock that is covered in them and they irritate my anemone's. My plan is to quarintine that rock with a couple Sundial Snails and let them eat all the yellow polyps till they are gone, and then get rid of the snails.

Good idea or bad idea?

Where can I get some of these known "pests"

How do you know you won't accidentally sneak one back in or they won't breed or lay eggs on the rock? Then you have them eating stuff you do want.

Why not just sell the rock to someone just getting into the hobby?

I have killed hundreds with kalk paste over the last couple years, but they just keep coming back.

It would suck if they made babies and then came back into the display tank. But I am willing to bet this is the only way to get them off the rock.

I can't just sell the rock because the anemone will not leave that rock. It has been its home for over three years and 4 different tanks of mine. It will never move, I have tried numerous times to get it off the rock.

Even still, I cannot find anywhere that sells them or has them.....

I've had emerald crabs that LOVED yellow polyps. They would tear through mine back when I was keeping yellow polyps.

Or you could take some of my hair algae and just let that stuff choke off the polyps...that's what happened to mine! :D

Emerald Crabs love yellow polyps. That is a safer route for "biological" control over sundials.

I have an emerald crab that doesnt go anywhere near them...

I still think I want to try this. Anyone know of any sponsers that have any?

As an update, I just took the rock out and dremeled all the yellow polyps off the rck with a cut off wheel. I made one hell of a mess, and made the nems mad, but they seem to have recovered nicely...

Free yellow polyps!
