uv light?

Ok.. was about to order my 57 watt aqua sterlizer and the sales guy tells me its to strong for my 250 gallon, that i will kill my good bacteria...but someone here in thr ARC tells me you can never go to strong on uv's...you guy that have big uv's is that a problem for u?

First of call, the amount of BACTERIA in the water column is completely negligible, the "good" bacteria is residing on the rocks and substrate.

Second - if that would be the case, what that sales guy said - most of us on here would not have any bacteria left in our system.
I am running 160W on 400gallons of water...
 
I have 114 watts on 300 gallons and dont think it is problem. And I have 40 watts on 150 gallons. Dont plan on changing either of them
