I'm getting closer every day to setting up the 90 gallon tank to consolidate two smaller ones. I am not sure what the best way is to set up the uv sterilizer. I initially assumed that it would be attached to the return pump (similar to the 29 gallon biocube) but then started thinking that I may have problems with the flow rate.

Is it OK to simply run the uv sterilizer on a separate pump than the return pump? I'm assuming they would both sit in the third and final chamber since the protein skimmer will be in the second.

THanks for the advise.

It is perfectly fine to run it off a seperate pump, but I prefer to run it off my main return pump (via a manifold). One less piece of equipment to clean, generate heat, etc. You just need to put a gate valve on the line in front of your UV sterilizer, so you can regulate the flow to the proper rating. Some use a ball valve to save a little coin, but it is much easier to regulate with a gate valve.
