I am adding a turbo twist 18 watt uv sterilizer to my 90 gal tank (20 gal sump). I am using a maxi-jet 600 (160 gph) to push water through it. It has the option to be a venturi pump, but should I make it as such to send it through a uv sterilizer, or just let it push water with no bubbles? Thanks in advance for your help!

My first thought was by adding bubbles to the water, you add space within the water that should, in theory, produce cleaner water. I will reduce the flow to give it longer time within the system.

Also, do you leave your sterilizer on 24 hrs, or have it come on with the day lights?

So far it's done great! Worked like a charm, ich starting to fade on the hippo tang (not sure if it's as a result of the sterilizer, or just going through it's normal cycle), and overall I suppose I can tell it's more clear... That's a tough one. I didn't think it was that bad to begin with, but maybe I want to justify spending almost $200 on the thing. :)
