So I was trying to figure out what does everyone do when they go on Vacation? I will be gone in a couple of weeks for a week and trying to figure out what to do..... I have a freshwater too and I can drop some vacation blocks in the tank and they be set, but what do you do for salt water?

Fish can easily go a week without feeding. I wouldn't sweat it. Salt or fresh.

You can feed pellets from an auto feeder. I like the Eheim. I leave it running all the time putting in pellets twice a day, so if I skip a day or two of frozen it's no big deal.

Do you have water top off? Salinity will get way off with evaporation. I always feel better having a friend come over and top off tanks, feed, and check things out. I leave 1 gallon jugs and draw a line on the sump and tell them to fill it to the line every other day or so (depending on how good of a friend they are).

I left pre-measured doses of frozen food in labeled tupperware containers in my freezer. I had a neighbor picking up mail and feeding my cats so it was pretty easy to get them to feed the tank a couple of days that week, too. I also had a jug of RO water for them to use mid week to top off the tank (after marking the right water level). My tank is simple to feed though with only corals, a few shrimp and the clean up crew.
