Variations in BTA's

I know there are different kinds of BTA's but what all kinds are out there, color wise that is.

Mixtures of the above

I've seen, green, green and purple, red and green, red and black, red with white speckles, pink, red and gold, and gold/yellow, My favorite is the red and black. I'll try and find some pictures to post.

I'd say green in the aquarium trade. In the wild probably brown.

I got one couple of days back and is very light green, almost white, with purple tip. Is this normal? Later on I learned some anemones in bad health could appear white. So not sure if mine is unhealthy or that is the color is supposed to be

Not is my experience. A mostly white BTA means its expelled the zooxanthellae algae that lives inside.

mockery is right, you need to feed it meaty foods to get its color back, when they are bleached they can't absorb energy from the light

They will eventually reacquire their zoazenthalle (sp?), but in the meantime they will need to be fed mysis shrimp or other small meaty foods like chopped krill 2-3 times a week. It may take them 2-3+ months to regain their color.

this is what my anemone looks like... it was the same color when i got it from the lfs and it is still the same color.

i've been feeding it myasis shrimp, but ionly have had it for 1 week. so is it bleached?
