Has anyone had hands on with the new Vertex Cone skimmers? From what I hear people are really enjoying them, but I wanted to check to see if anyone local has touched.. heard... or in other ways experienced one?

Heres a link from my friends at Premium Aquatics.

Thanks.

I talked to Tim at MRC today about them. He said they are great skimmers, but the air / water ratio is off with the pump so it isn't as efficient as they could be. ( I won't leak any information about a MRC cone or anything hehe).

I just wonder.. with the CONE shape.. does it really DO ANYTHING, or is it just the most recent fad in reef keeping because it sounds cool?

Personally i'm going to wait for the hourglass shaped units. They are going to be sexy. :)

Fad. But a fad is what the market wants now. Heck, even eshopps makes a cone skimmer.
