interesting........is that enough light/par for sps? how deep ya think?
 
Tim from the former Keens reef did a par measure with LEDs and as I recall it was very good. I cant remember where he posted it.

Im currently using LEDs from a different company and get very good results (when my non-lighting errors dont set me back). Im also very happy with the low amount of power they use and they do not add any appreciable burden to the AC in the summer.
 
Interesting that they have no optics on them. IMHO you'd have to have a number of these fixtures and hang them pretty close to the water line in a tank that's not incredibly deep...

Here's a link to a review. They say they purposely chose not to use optics in order to more evenly spread light. I have to say that I don't keep any light hungry stuff on my sand bed, so I don't need high PAR down there.
 
Having all that circuitry exposed can not be a good thing. That board should be potted and sealed off! I wouldn't touch them if there is not any way to properly seal it. Am I seeing that correctly? Input anyone?
