Mp40 owners... Just how loud are these pumps?

My desk sits about six feet from my tank. I spend most of the day on conference calls... Will the people I'm speaking with hear the pumps over the phone?

I disagree with no noise. The noise is certainly not overbearing but you can hear them, especially when ramping. To out into perspective, unless you have a bean animal your overflow will be louder by far. People on calls will not be able to hear any of it if it's all working properly.

Thanks for the responses... I am on a mission to quiet my tank (reeflo dart to dc pump, durso to herbie) and want to make sure any power head changes meet the overall goal.

Don't let me steer you away from them as I think they will meet and exceed your goal here. I just wanted to say they are not silent. If your using a reeflo dart I understand the want to quiet things. Mp40 is about 1/10th the noise of those beasts.

One of my mp40 makes a buzzing sound but I can line it up better with the in tank portion and the noise goes away. But the main motor gets offset in a couple hours and the buzzes again. I can send it in for warranty but it isn't worth the effort for me.

That certainly is not normal. Magnets either losing power or you have the wrong spacer.
