Vortech MP40W En Fuego!

I feel like my Vortechs aren't really running in the mode I set them in. I rarely hear them ramp up and down like I used to (I run reef crest mode). Also, the motor on the outside is H-O-T! This is only on the master and not the other pump. Any ideas?

Could be a bearing issues. I think someone posted a thread on here about replacing them.

Is it making any racket like a bearng gone bad? I'd call Ecotech and talk to them.

I have an mp40 that is only a few months old and it gets quite warm when its running 75-100%. Do you have the pin spacer set correctly? Have you tried cleaning the wetside?

No, the pump is still fairly quiet. Though, like I said, I don't hear it "varying" too much in speed. I DO need to clean the wetsides of both pumps and my Tunzes tomorrow, so we'll see if that helps. I have, like, a 40 item "to-do list" on my tank right now.
