Or, as I do it, I leave the auto tune "unlearned". This way, when making the wave, the controller cycles through the range of wave delays, so it will slowly build frequency,a nd you can watch the wave form and disspate, with the cyclical pulsing occuring the whole time.

Jeremy is ther absolutely no way to make 2 of the 40's do the Nutrient Export mode. I know what they Ecotech says to fully do the EcoSmart functions you need three but can you make 2 work I have a Marineland 150DD so dims are 36x36x27.

I could be wrong but I don't believe so. If you read the instructions they talk about there being one master and two slaves. For the Nutrient Export there is a programed master/slave commands and only one slave will not complete the loop. Imagine if you lost a leg. Your brain would still send the same signal for you to walk. But you couldn't with the other leg gone. Doesn't matter what message the brain sends if the hardware isn't there to execute it.

There absolutely is. It won't be as ideal as will 3, but it will work fine. I'll PM you tonight how to

Would you mind posting it publicly? I know I've got way too much power for my 120g with 3 MP40's and would love to sell one off if there's another way.

Thanks man! If you want to just post it that works too! Either way I appreciate the info.

So, first and foremost, make sure you understand exactly what NTM is. It's essentially a flow pattern created by a wave followed by a heavy flow period to "flush" the debris into the overflows. In the ideal situation, there is a pump on each of the sides and one on the back. In typical programming, the side pumps will be set to create a wave for the majority of the time, with the back pump at 50%. Then, after a period, all the pumps sequentially ramp up to 100% to flush. This includes the two side pumps.

To run NTM with two pumps, I would simply omit the back pump from placement and programming. This will still give the wave action and the flush, just not as robust a flush as with 3 pumps. But it still has effect.

Got ya!....Now I wonder how well this will work in my tank it is 36x36x27 Marineland 150DD?

so in a cube they would have to be still one on each side (lft & rt) correct? Not one one each side of the back.

I believe that is exactly what Jeremy is saying.
