Vortech Placement

So I got my vortech back from service. And wondering if where I had it was really the best location. Originally it was located on the side opposite my overflow. It is a mixed reef with a little of everything. Here is a pic of the tank for reference.

i can't answer your question, but I have one of my own... Do you think 1 mp10 would be a good start in a 57G tank? I've heard the flow is exceptional

I would go with an mp20. They can later be upgraded for an mp40 for $150. I don't think the mp10 would be enough, but it depends on what you want to keep

I would go with the MP20 because you do have the upgrade option. My tank is 58ish gallons and the only reason I went with a 40 over 20 is cause I got a good deal.

Anyone else want to comment on my question at hand though? Don't mind the side bar, just wanting to place it today when I get done with class.

i'd agree. the mp10 is a great choice....but the mp20 is the absolute best choice. it's a lot of money, but in my experience the mp10 is so far the best reef investment i've made.

also, i'd put it on the same side as where the overflow is, and a little bit lower down than your middle finger can reach. mockery
