Mine hovers around 7.8 and 8.0, but when add the buffer every now and again it jumps back up. Like Brandon said the other day, don't try and chase a number.. I've done water test on ocean water before, that will freak you out. Goes back to the dillution theory again.

Nah.. Not if you can't test alk. I would procede, that's just me though..

Might want to be sure you have good gas exchange, that will prob. increase the pH without having to use chemicals

ok will i have that so i should be ok right? and i think im going to get an eel i know you guys say i dont need to but im going to try my luck and i have a 55gal on the way just waiting to go get it in case i have to put it in another tank i wont get him till i get the tank up and running
