Are there any good walk in dives in the keys? I am thinking of going down there for new years but don't have the money to do a bunch of boat dives. I would like to do one day on a boat but I will be down there for a couple days and want to dive as much as possible, any ideas?

Yes they have alot of them..They arent posted in the papers tho..THey are all on the posts..I lived there for 4 years..Have fun!!!

I Thought all the reefs were like 6 miles off shore? I am sure there may be some small one closer though...

contact Mafiaman.....he is a divemaster and guide in Islamorada

Any input would be good, The trip is in the very beginning stages of planing so Im not sure what island we would end up on. If any one knows what the best island would be please let me know. We are looking for a good boat dive and maybe some stuff we could just walk/swim into. It does not have to been any thing great. 15 to 30 feet would be fine, my self and my girl friend and both new to diving and only have a couple dives apiece so we are just looking for some where to get under water.

Omg my bad I thought you ment sky diving HAHAHA..No the reefs are off shore quiet a ways..But if you go off of big coppitt key boat ramp close to Prado circle..There is a massive ship wreck about a mile of shore heading south west..Lots of cool things growing around the beast..Also look around for Captin Johns Grey Hound 5 he will be more than happy to show you around!

It would be a vacation, I said I did not know what island because I wanted to see what people thought the best island was. It sounds like if I go there I will be doing boat dives and snorkeling. I would be open to looking at some place like Cancun or Cozumel. I may just end up staying at my parents condo in PCB and diving some of the springs around there or doing a little lobstering

It does not have to be a shore dive, I was just thinking if there where any it would save money. It sounds like if I really want to see alot and be safe I will just have to hop on a boat. Thanks for all your input.
