Well I knew what I was getting into and 3 years later it finally happened. My maroons matured to the point of not allowing anything else in my tank. They harassed two tangs (to death). They were the smaller than a nickel when I bought them from Tim 3 years ago. I really like them, but was hoping that would be comfortable in a FOWLR 14g BC that I have laying around. They would be the only fish in there. The female is 4 inches (and fat) and the male is just under 2 inches and slim. Thoughts?

Thank you!

I have had a breeding pair of GSMs in a 12g for months, and my original Clarkes are in a 24g and spawn regularly. I try not to use tanks that small. Clowns will adapt and you can maintain them, but I wouldn't call a 12g tank a long term solution for large fish.

Thank you. I agree. They are enjoying a 55 gallon with just a royal gramma (they harassed everything to death). Hey, I love them and want them to be comfortable. Thanks for the feedback. It's all about the fish (and inverts) right?

Hi Tony, I appreciate you dilemma and have to agree the 14g Biocube is just too small for them. What would be cool is a 60gal cube!

Its really about having their own space, anything under 20-30 gallons I feel like a mature pair is probably the only thing that can live there. However 50 gallons plus I feel like they will tend to claim their corner of the tank and not bother schooling/roaming type fishes.

We all know Maroons can be a time bomb though.
