Wanting to build two internal overflow boxes

Looking for someone whom has black plexiglass to build an overflow box for a 30 gallon tank. I need the longer piece to have teeth to allow the water to drain and hold things within the aquarium. Also, I need to build an internal overflow box; preferably out of glass for a 4 foot long 125 gallon tank.

Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. How would the top glass be constructed to allow good overflow into the drain hole? Beveled edge, etc.?

i would just stick with the acrylic overflow box vs the glass. glass is heavier and you risk dropping and breaking it and also cutting yourself if the edges arent sanded down. and because of the weight of the glass it makes siliconing it together a little more difficult. with acrylic you can just use a solvent to weld the pieces together in a matter of minutes vs waiting a day for the silicone to dry on glass

What bonding weld would you use? Also, use a thicker piece of acrylic for the 125 gallon? I want to go the full length of the 125; which is 72 inches for the internal overflow box. I want to go with black acrylic for both internal overflows to avoid/minimize algae growth in that area of the tank. What do you think?

Note: The 125 will have the Bean Animal installed along with the internal overflow box.

to weld the acrylic together you would use something like weld on 4 which is a water thin solvent. or you can use weld on 16 which is much thicker and will fill gaps. heres a quick video to help explain everything. <div class="gc_ifarem_title">How to glue Acrylic - YouTube</div>

your overall plan sounds good but i would put 2 braces in spread evenly across the overflow to prevent bowing

Thanks for the video. Looks easy enough. Now to acquire the black acrylic and start the process. Thanks for the idea of supports; I'll have to implement them in my final draft.
