watchmen goby odd behavior

ive never had a watchmen goby before. I got one a little over a week ago. Ever since i introduced a pistol to the tank he has acted a lot different. He likes to stay around the pistol which is what i wanted. So hes been fine. This morning he is staying at the very top of the tank. Right at the water line. Any idea why he would be doing this?

Mine does that on occassion and really don't know why or how come. After he get's tired of becoming a free swimming fish, he comes back down. Never discovered any problems so now when it happens I just figure it's in his nature or he's looking for attention!

mine does that too...especially when the lights are off he will swim toward the top for awhile..i usually catch him doing that in the morning...ive heard they are jumpers so make sure u have some sort of top if its only mesh up there

Yes they are jumpers. Even though I knew that, mine defeated my lame attempts to prevent it. How in the world can a fish have a good enough aim to jump THROUGH a paracube lens. Today, I am building a screen top to get rid of the paracube.

Geez he's still up there. Been up there all day. Wish he would get tired and return to the bottom. Thanks for the help guys I was worried he was dieing.

Hope he makes it bud. All of us in my houshold are bummed about loosing ours. :-( Good news is, I did get a screen built today so now we can look for a replacement.

I have had mine at the top for 2-3 days on a couple occassions with no obvious reason. Hope you can breathe a bit better now....:up:.
