This morning my water looked fine, just looked at it again and now its cloudy/milky looking. Tested everything this morning and it was fine. Algae bloom or something? Any ideas suggestions?

Could be a bacterial bloom. Have you done anything drastic lately?

Could also be calcium precipitate or things mentioned above.

If you have macro algae (like caulerpa) if it crashed, that would make it go milky too.

i havent done anything to the tank lately.. i changed the filters and did a water change 3 days ago but thats it. No CA reactor and its not just stirred up sand.. it looks way worse this morning. I guess this means more water changes? What do i do to clear it up? I swear.. its always something.

Something may be dead or your tank crashed if you do a 50% water change it will bring it back if that's what it island if it's not to late. The bug man sprayed for fleas and it crashed all 5 of my tanks and I spent all day doing water changes and saved almost every thing

Well luckily i dont have anything to save except some snails and a couple shrimp. All seem to be doing fine and water tests out fine. I did a 5 gallon WC and it helped some. Guess ill do another tomorrow.

It was probably a bacterial bloom and they've settled.

nope... i think jenn was right. just an algae bloom.. first ive ever had. nitrates are down to 10. so im happy. tank is doing well. *knock on wood* time to add some live stock back

Bacterial bloom... totally different - but I still think that's what it was.
