Water Parameters

sp:1.025
pH:8.0
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate 20mg/l (high)
Mag: 1350
Phosphate: 2.0 (i changed the phosban in the reactor)
Calcium: 380
dKh: 9

What else to do? I also washed the filter sponge and changed the calcium.

publix had a vending machine that supplies ro water. look by vending machines.

phosphate at that level will take a while to get lower as it is absorbed by the algae, rock, sand, creatures, etc. Change out your phosban every two weeks, and it will slowly come down.

Throw in some chaeto somewhere as well. That stuff sucks up phosphates.

Wow and you are still getting phosphate readings... I would check my test kit for sure. Most of the time phosphates are nearly undetectable with a large macro algae presence (and should be) unless you are testing the water right after a water change with phosphates in the new water. Something is putting those in there and it should be resolved before you see a really nasty nuisance algae outbreak.

I will test today when able. They quadrupled the medicine and I feel worse than before. I was hoping for this week admission but they won't due to the holiday.
