I found this link on Reef Central and thought I would share. I noticed a few of the things it suggests seem out of line with what Ive always been told. Very detailed information and answers a lot of questions I had.

Whats everyones water parameters?

Mine:
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Calcium: 350 (trying to get it up to 400-450)</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Alkalinity: 4.85 (trying to get it up to 7-8)</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Salinity: 1.0225 (was 1.024 and has fallen, slowly raising)</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Temperature: 78-80 (have ranged anywhere from 74 to 85 within the past few years, I'm now able to keep it stable with a chiller.)</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">pH: 8.4</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Magnesium: Not tested</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Phosphate: 0</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Ammonia: 0</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Silica: Not tested</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Iodine: Not tested</span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Nitrate: 0</span>

Good site. I have always used that as a reference. FYI you need to test your magnesium. You will not be able to maintain a good calcium level if your magnesium is low. I was told this by the same person that wrote the reference page that you posted a link to. Once I got my magnesium level in check I was able to raise and maintain a good calcium level.

anyway, my tank parameters are as follows:
