Water Reservoir for ATO

How far do you think you could run a line from the RO/DI unit to a ATO repository (Container) ? Mine are about 45' from one another, thinking of running a line to ATO that way no bucket brigade once a week. Is that the sign of laziness?

I use a 20 gal Brute that sits next to my tank, Tunze ATO. Lasts about a week

Asking for trouble in my opinion. If the ATO sticks in the on position it has an endless supply of water. With an ATO container you limit how much water could be added in a bad situation.

Definitely not a sing of laziness. In this hobby, the more you can automate the better. You can run it 45'. Just be sure you have a float valve in the ATO container to turn off the RODI. If you can work out a second failsafe even better.

I haven't set up my ATO yet (although have the JBJ and container now). I keep hearing stories of floods. Kinda scares me.

Yes but the Apple ATO will be like 500.00 and unfortunately come in different colors

Standard 55gal aquarium in the garage for ato. My tank is on the other side of the wall. It also doubles as my water change container and is plumbed through the wall so I can siphon out the old and pump in the new.


(someday I'll track down some glass lids so it's not so ghetto looking lol)
