I know some have been mentioned in the recent LED threads but I can't seem to get our Search to find them. Thus, I'll just post it here and see what is responded. I thought I'd heard of a site, reefled.com but when entered, that gives me nothing. I'm interested in exploring other LED options and one of those is building my own.

One that is all the rage right now is http://www.aquastyleonline.com/">http://www.aquastyleonline.com/</a>

They ship from china and use no name ballast as well as bridgelux instead of Cree but they have good feedback on both nano reef and RC.

I'm using 18 leds bridgelux for the 15g and using 5 crees led for my 5g and 24 cree for my 56g. if u like i can post a pics on here

Both CREE and Bridgelux use the exact same wattage, what exactly makes the CREE better?

You are aware that Bridgelux makes 1, 2 and 3W LEDs, right?

When you compare apples to apples (3W to 3W) - you will see that there is no notable difference between the two...

ya they are both 3W led's and they both look pretty much the same but that just might be because of the pictures i have always leaned towards cree but bridglux is just so much cheaper

I hooked a par meter to a test array of 10 XP-E and the same setup with 10 Bridgelux.

I can't comment on heat or how hard they "worked" - what I can say is that for a fraction of the cost, the Bridgelux provided within 3% the same PAR...
