Spent the weekend adding some additions to the 20GAL Reef Sump.

The skimmer pump was on it's last leg and it honestly never did a great job skimming (Sealife Systems in Sump Skimmer). I bought a huge, I mean huge, amount of aquarium items from Kevin this weekend and part of the treasure chest was a CoralLife Skimmer. I ended up switching out skimmers from my 55GAL (volume of skimming was more appropriate).

Next I installed the CoolWorks Ice Probe to help keep my temperature stable. It now hovers around 78.0 +/- .5 degrees. Aided by the temp probe on the Coolworks and the temp probe on my Aquadyne Octopus 3000. Drilling was easy, but placement in the sump took some small adjustments with other items.

I also installled the Nautalis Phosban Reactor. I loaded it with SeaChem Phoban and Carbon. I am going to run it 24/7 for a while to help control my algea issue and then I might go to a few hours a day.

Lastly I finished some slight alterations of my Kalk/Top off system. I have it controlled by my Octo 3000 and it comes on late at night for only 2 minutes to dose Kalk and top off with water. It is connected to a 5 GAL container outside my stand, there is no room in the stand but I need to figure out a a better way to hide/camoflauge it. Any ideas would be appreciated!
