Well finally got my first case of the ich..... Powder brown and coral beauty have it right now. Other fish are yellow tang, two percs, 2 reef chromis.
The fish are in a reef tank now and ive been soaking food in garlic for a few days. Also doing 10% water changes for three days now.
both fish are showing no signs of stress and are eating regularly. Except the tang if swimming in front of return hose at night.

Temp: 75
Amm: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 20 (a lil high)

Bringing nitrates down with water changes but i dont think that would have been what caused the ich outbreak. The only thing i can think of is my return pump cut off so my water wasnt cycling through sump and skimmer.

Anyone have any suggestions? Im thinking im going to just have to hope that both fish fight the disease off on their own.

Is your temp fluctuating at night? 75 might be on the low side. I usually try to stay at 78-80. Any new additions lately? Whether this is an olde wives tale or not, I have always kept a cleaner shrimp in my tanks to help with this

Got two cleaner shrimp!!!!!
Yeah temp has fluctuated a bit. Do you think that could be what caused the outbreak? no new additions. And ive had the powder brown for about six months....... this is the first ive seen of ich and i know that it was going to happen eventually.
Like i said before my return pump shut off show the water was stag for about three days!!!! Im guessing that was it. I have a qt but i dont want to stress the fish out more by catching/releasing etc.

I doubt temp is the cause, there are people on this forum who's tanks don't get above 74, and they are fine. Now if it is swinging 4+ degrees that might be.
If they are still eating well then your in good luck. Just soak food in garlic guard and watch for a few days.
